HOTEL
Hotel Exterior
Reflecting its dynamic downtown San Francisco location, Hotel Triton is uniquely eclectic and inspirational. The building was constructed in 1915, just nine years after the Great San Francisco Earthquake, and is a notable part of the neighborhood's historic charm. The Grant street entrance also boasts one of the leading French bistros in the area, Cafe de la Presse, as well as the sophisticated Rouge et Blanc, a modern wine bar.
Entrance
The eye-catching King Triton Fountain draws the attention of guests and passerby alike, symbolizing the whimsical, singular nature of Hotel Triton itself. The occasional appearance of the famous Triton Rubber Ducks taking a dip in the fountain is evidence that a sense of play is alive and well at our unique boutique hotel.
Fireplace Seating
Hotel Triton's blending of pop culture with historic San Francisco charm greets you in our lively lobby. A colorful mural by noted artist Kari Pei, daughter-in-law of the famous architect I.M. Pei, depicts local music and art icons, offering an inspiring note that rings throughout our boutique hotel.

Kathy Griffin Celebrity Suite
Hotel Triton's latest Celebrity Suite, the Kathy Griffin Suite, combines sleek elegance and chic sensibility. As shown in a second-season episode of Kathy Griffin's hit series, "My Life on the D-List," Ms. Griffin and Mike Nielsen (known to viewers as her 'Gay Visionary') traveled to San Francisco to design an inspired suite at Hotel Triton. They began with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling white suede drapes and took it from there. This suite was the result. With a color palate ranging from pearl to chocolate to sage green, this suite provides pure indulgence and ultimate relaxation from Kathy Griffin and the Hotel Triton.
Haagen Dazs Celebrity Suite
The luxurious Häagen-Dazs "Sweet Suite" offers Hotel Triton guests a uniquely whimsical escape and complete sensory indulgence. Bathed in vanilla and caramel colors, the true artistry of this guestroom is in the details, from chocolate, vanilla and dulce de leche candles, to the bed's handcrafted headboard shaped like the Häagen-Dazs cartouche, to a waffle-textured bed throw, to a specially made plush Häagen-Dazs bathrobe. The room's main attraction is the "Sweet Spot" - a custom-designed ice cream cabinet filled with classic Häagen-Dazs ice cream flavors, ice cream bars and new releases such as the Haagen-Dazs Reserve Series. The cabinet is stocked with bowls, scoops and spoons. You can enjoy as many complimentary pints as you desire and, best of all, a portion of the room fee is donated to the Häagen-Dazs ice cream charity of choice, Delancey Street Foundation. You help support an important community charity while luxuriating in flavorful style when you book the Hotel Triton Häagen-Dazs Suite.

Wine Hour
In 1981, Bill Kimpton personally supervised every aspect of each guest's stay in his hotels, including Hotel Triton in downtown San Francisco. He made sure Kimpton beds were comfortable, the water pressure was strong, the lobby was sparkling and the employees friendly. And he made a point of greeting each guest personally at the hotel's Hosted Evening Wine Hour. Today, we continue to honor this tradition with a social hour, hosted by our General Manager. This is a relaxing opportunity for guests to mingle with each other and taste unique wines from around the world.
