Designer Michael Booth of Babey-Moulton, San Francisco, took advantage of the original soaring ceilings and picture windows of the lobby and replaced molded plaster and wood to the ceiling to mimic that of the original store. Red Star Tavern & Roast House
In the heart of downtown Portland and adjacent to the Hotel Monaco Portland, Red Star is redefining New American Cuisine. Set in a historic building with floor to ceiling windows, spacious booths with mahogany and warm, golden hues, Red Star offers refined dining in a convivial setting. The restaurant seats 200 guests, 150 in the main dining room and 50 in the lounge, with private dining in the restaurant's 'Club Room' and in the adjacent Hotel Monaco Portland. In addition to a full menu and a brick wood-burning oven, Red Star's rotisserie turns out a new game selection each day, while also featuring permanent game dishes like the Bison Prime Rib. The seasonal menu shows off Red Star's commitment to the Northwest's freshest produce and highlights the harvest in daily specials. Boasting Oregon's largest bourbon wall, the lounge is a local hotspot known for creative cocktails and a special bourbon cocktail menu. For an interactive experience, Red Star offers a rotating monthly bourbon flight that features four varieties seated side-by-side on an oak tasting panel, and comes with tasting notes.
